In April of 2019, Pete Nettles was appointed to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer of Georgia Energy Cooperative. He is responsible for the oversight of power supply management, planning and procurement, and contract negotiations and administration for GEC’s Member Systems.
Prior to joining Georgia Energy Cooperative, Pete served as Renewable Energy Planning Manager for Georgia Power, where he led the company’s efforts in developing and managing renewable programs for residential, commercial, and industrial customer classes.
Pete joined Georgia Power after 15 years supporting Southern Company’s competitive wholesale power business. From 2005 to 2016, he has served as Business Development Manager at Southern Power, with responsibility for proposal development and negotiations for power purchase agreements with wholesale customers representing over 2,500 MW of generating capacity. He began his career with Southern Company in 2001 as a Financial Analyst, where he developed and reported consolidated financial statements for all Southern Company wholesale contracts.
Pete graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and an MBA with a concentration in strategic management.

John Winskie serves as Vice President of Power Supply for Georgia Energy Cooperative (GEC). He is responsible for power supply management, resource planning and procurement, contract negotiations, and contract administration for GEC’s Member Systems. John joined GEC in January, 2009.
John served fifteen years in various roles related to regulatory support and generation planning.
Prior to joining GEC, he served as Director of Operational Interfaces for Oglethorpe Power Corporation, where he was responsible for the procedures that allowed the individual distribution EMCs to schedule their entitlements to OPC’s resources, as well as working with the generation dispatch company to optimize OPC’s cost of production.
John began his career at Savannah Electric which, at that time, was a subsidiary of Southern Company. After leaving Savannah, he lived in both Birmingham, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia working for various subsidiaries of the Southern Company.
John holds a bachelor of electrical engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Art Wenda serves as Vice President of Finance and Administration for Georgia Energy Cooperative (GEC). He is responsible for accounting, financial reporting, treasury, compliance and HR administration. Art joined GEC in December of 2017.
Prior to joining GEC, Art served as Director of Treasury and Risk Management at Icahn Automotive Group and Treasurer at Impellam NA. He also served over 13 years in Oglethorpe Power Corporation’s Finance Department, managing their debt portfolio and compliance matters.
Art began his accounting career with Primex in Lake Geneva, WI and later on with Gander Mountain before moving to the Atlanta area.
Art holds a bachelor degree in business from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh with a major in accounting.
