Capacity & Energy Mix

The GEC Members have approximately 2,100 MWs of resources to meet their energy demand. The GEC Members’ diverse mix of resources includes nuclear, coal, natural gas, hydro and renewable energy.

The combination of ownership arrangements and purchase contracts allow the Members to provide their retail customers with reliable service without an overreliance on any one type of fuel source.

While GEC Members currently are not subject to renewable energy standards, approximately 40% of their energy supply is met through “carbon neutral” sources.
